Be Kind Rewind

Went to catch "Be Kind Rewind" today as a reprieve from being forced to sit through that stupid "Boleyn Girl" movie last night. I know, it's supposed to be an engrossing period piece with two of the most beautiful women in Hollywood. But really, who gives a fuck about some bitches in 5XL dresses hating on each other.

As an admitted nerd, I was excited to peep some Michael Gondry; most noted for his Bjork video, that "Eternal Sunshine..." flick with Ace Ventura, and "The Science of Sleep" -my favorite. Sometimes craze, sometimes funny. Always good visuals as if it was made by a smart 3rd grader.

Especially after the "Sleep" film, I was really hoping for some movie magic; but what can you really get from a film filmed about Pasaic, New Jersey? Overall it was well done, but lacked the richness of his other shit.

The best part of the movie is their "Sweded" adaptation of some 80s hits from Robocop and Ghostbusters. Instantly Classic. Apparently, all the "Sweded" films they did in the movie have been done for real and can be sourced out including some other ones done by ams that are just as hilarious. Peep Gondry's Sweded trailer for the movie..
