09.09.09.

Managed to finagle a third Daddy Day Out, the second being a day trip to Philly a month ago to hit up the new Pops Skatepark (small, fun, but full of local shit rats & hipsters: go mid-week and during school year), FDR, and Geno's Steaks- prob the second happiest place on earth next to In & Out.

Headed up to Rhode Island to hit up Neutaconkanut Hill Park just outside Providence. Prob one of the funnest parks next to the always fun Westerly Park in CT. Smooth concrete, pool coping and endless lines make the mission up North worth it. But watch for the BMXers and the Dominican street rats that seemed to localize the park when we were there. "Ay, Coño!"

Checked out Donny Barley's skateshop in Downtown Providence. Pretty cool shop, but as with most core shops as of late, they only stocked a minimum of skate goods, catering more to the SB sneakerheads & streetwear nerds. Can't hate because of the %200 mark-up on sneakers which helps most shops pay rent in these times; but where can I go to buy a Spitfire shirt?

The guys recommended a sandwich shop up the street boasting about home made meats and cheeses with one aged cheese retailing about $50/lb. Seemed like they made a nice $15 sandwich with New England Red Sox Country Martha's Vineyard ingredients like roasted grape mostarda and lemon & parsley pistou; but as with most of Providence was too rich for my blood. Farmstead, you can take your $75 cheese platter and shove it up your fucking asshole. Those pretentious Farmer's Market Fuckfaces weren't getting my money. Settled for the apple and granola bar I grabbed from our comp bkfst @ the hotel.
