Camp life.

Christian and I made the decision last week to drive to Hood this year. Nearly 1100 miles straight up the I-5 later, and we are in the summer snowboard Mecca of Government Camp, Oregon.

The days up here are good: Breakfast, riding, lunch at Cobra Dogs, skating, watching cut throat coach vs. Camper dodgeball games, and then dinner, followed by who knows what in this mountain hamlet of about 300. Being a parent now, it is even radder to see how stoked these kids are and how good the staff at High Cascade is with all of them, very pro.

So the next few days we are up here "in country" and in the thick of the snowboard scene in the middle of July, far from the beaches of Southern California. More to come later.
