That'sa grossa stereotype!

This just came in from the floor of a Deseret Industries (Utah
Goodwill) via Chris B. out in Utah. I think that is the same guy that
used to show up in some 80's sitcoms as "zany pizzeria owner" or
"awkward silence breaker cabbie" every once in a while.

1958-2009

Thinking of:

-Listening to Thriller in the back of the bus full blast on the way to 4th grade
-The Owasso Roller Rink
-Being glued to the TV watching whenever there was the slightest chance of MJ being on when I was young.
-Guy's part in Video Days
-Off the Wall on a crappy tape player in Yolanda's Tercel when we were dating.
-Dancing with Eva to Rock with You in our living room.

You get the picture. Thanks for the good times and inspiration Michael.

I'm dumbfounded.

The store that had this in LA was closed, so now I have this out there haunting my tastebuds.

Beautiful Downtown Burbank.

Yesterday was an awesome day to say the least. I got into work, got a done of work done, then headed to Hollywood to attend a taping of Late Night with Conan O'Brien. I have been watching The Tonight Show since I was about 6 years old so needless to say this was a great time.

Some observations:

-The studio is awesome. Art Deco theme and amazing hand painted murals.

-Everything in there is literally brand new, from the cameras to the carpets.

-It is pretty amazing that Conan makes it through the whole show without one flubbed line or tongue twist, crazy.

-The Max Weinberg 7 (Now the Tonight Show Band) make the whole show. They tour, and I am definitely going to see them the next chance I get.

-The no photo or camera policy is no joke. I saw 3 or 4 people try to sneak photos, only to have a security guard come over and make them delete their photos in front of them.

-Andy Richter is funny, even when doing nothing.

-I can't wait to go back.

VIP treatment. Thanks TC!

Brutal.

Coors Lightito.

The Nagle Family were gracious enough to host Jillian & I for a weekend of sun, fun, and Silver Bulletitos (*when we actually were enjoying some nice weekend weather). Thanks guys! It's always nice to get out of the neighborhood and see how everybody else lives. Chilling in a shoebox isn't all it's cracked up to be, but it's a 15min bike ride to work and there's a great slice spot on the way.

After a rough afternoon of cannonballs and a failed attempt to do laps, they mentioned going to a neighborhood Mexican place. As I have complained before, it's nearly impossible to get a decent plate of Mexican food east of the Rockies. So we were skeptical but they do have a BRB policy so it couldn't be that bad. Once the food came, we were pleasantly suprised to get some actually authentic Mexican complete with good pico de gallo.

To top it off we ordered some wings which were as authentic as any wing straight off Elmwood Avenue. Good size wing, fried hard, perfect flavor and not a puddle of sauce on the plate. I was amazed. The blue cheese was standard, but it's hard to find decent bluech anywhere. Get some.

NYC Proper.

Go see the re-make of the Taking of Pelham 123. The original was great but the re-make was pretty official: great writing, great casting and it's actually shot on location in NYC not Vancouver or in Photoshop. It's actually amazing how they actually filmed huge scenes right outside Grand Central and the Staten Island Ferry.

I hate studio shows like CSI-NY or NY movies where they hop in a cab in Uptown West Side Manhattan and yell, "take me downtown as fast as you can!" and the cut scenes are driving through downtown DUMBO Brooklyn or heading North on Second Avenue. That shit is so fucking gay. Anyways, go see the movie with some popcorn. Better than the shitty trailers lead you to believe.
